Formerly the Black United Fund of New Jersey, the African American
Fund of New Jersey since 1980 has touched the lives of over 3 million
people who live in the state’s urban areas.

$3.5 million in financial assistance has been given to approximately

Our primary goal is to enable individuals
to help
themselves to create a better sense of self-worth,
a better self-identity
and ultimately,
self-sufficiency.
And while we have been able to make a difference,

work remains for us to improve conditions in the African American
community.
